Steps For Successful Printing

To print from your booth, you'll need to follow three key steps:

  1. Use a supported printer

  2. Connect your printer and iPad via WiFi

  3. Format your layout for clean, professional prints

1. Choose A Supported Printer

Apple devices print using the AirPrint protocol, so your printer must be compatible with AirPrint—or work through a print server.

AirPrint Printers

These are plug-and-play and require no special setup.

  • Great for ease of use

  • Not ideal for high-volume events — AirPrint printers are slower

Non-AirPrint Printers (Dye-Sublimation)

Popular with professionals due to fast print speeds and lower cost-per-print over time.

  • These require a print server to work with your iPad.

  • More expensive upfront but better for high-volume needs

2. Connect Your Printer

AirPrint typically requires a WiFi connection. USB connections are only supported under certain circumstances at this time, and Bluetooth is not supported.

To print from the app, your iPad and your printer (or print server) must be on the same WiFi network.

3. Format Your Print Layout

Once your printer is connected, you'll want to ensure your layout fits your paper size correctly.

  • Adjust paper size and layout alignment in your print settings

  • Use the Force Fit feature to automatically center your layout and balance margins

Participant Experience

When printing is enabled:

  • A Print button appears on the app’s Send screen

  • You can also enable Auto-Print to print every session automatically (either on its own or alongside the print button)
