Your photos always save to your Simple Booth account. Dropbox is an optional extra saving method in the HALO app.
Dropbox is especially useful if you want to reprint layouts, because it keeps your print formatting in special "formatted sheet" files.
Dropbox integration is available on Core and up.
Connecting Dropbox
You can turn on Dropbox saving options in the HALO app or from your preset settings on the online dashboard. However, you must connect your Dropbox account in the HALO app to activate the integration.
Open the HALO app.
Go to your preset's Save Options panel.
Tap Sign in to Dropbox at the top of the screen and approve the connection.
You only need to connect your Dropbox account once per device.
Save options
When Dropbox is connected, you can save these file types:
Finished layouts: a copy of the final layout shown in your gallery.
Individual images: the original photos used to make each layout.
4x6 formatted sheets: a print-ready version formatted for 4x6" paper. Use this for reprints.
5x7 formatted sheets: a print-ready version formatted for 5x7" paper. Use this for reprints.
Formatted sheets are the only way to reprint a layout with your print settings. Turn them on if you plan to print during or after the event from outside the app.
Dropbox folders
Photos save to your Dropbox account under:
Apps / Simple Booth / [Preset Name] / [Media Type]
A folder is created for each preset after it uploads its first file to Dropbox. Don't rename or delete these folders. Doing so can break the Dropbox connection and stop files from saving.
Folder types
Each preset gets subfolders based on the media types you turn on:
Layouts: the final layout image (.jpg)
GIFs: the final animated .gif
GIF Videos: a looping .mov file, only if GIFs and Finished Layouts are both turned on
Individuals: original, unbranded, high-resolution images
Individuals (Branded): branded frames from your GIF layout
4x6: formatted layout for 4x6" prints
5x7: formatted layout for 5x7" prints
File names
Each file is named automatically using this format:
Apps / Simple Booth / [Preset Name] / [Media Type] / [Device ID]-[Image Number].[Extension]
For example:
Apps / Simple Booth / My Preset / GIFs / ABCDE-00001.gif
