After your AI Effect has been configured, it must be added to a layout within a preset before it can be used by guests.
Hint: If you generated the effect directly from within the Layout Designer, it is already applied to that specific layout.
How to Add an AI Effect to a Layout
Follow these steps to enable a saved effect for your event:
From your preset list, open the preset you want to customize.
In the Layout section of your settings, create a new layout or select an existing one.
In the Inspector, select Choose to browse your saved effects or the public library.
You can also generate a new AI Effect from the layout designer.
Select the effect you want to use and save your changes.
Generate Layout Previews. These act as "thumbnails" shown to guests before they take their picture so they know what style to expect.

Layout previews are essential for helping guests choose their preferred look during an event.
Automatic Generation: A layout preview may already be generated for you depending on how the AI effect was initially created.
Preflight Check: If any previews are missing when you are ready to launch, the Simple Booth app will prompt you to generate them during the preflight check.
Generating layout previews is optional but highly recommended. Providing a visual example ensures guests understand the transformation that will occur after their photo is captured and can help reduce unnecessary credit usage.
