App Crashes & Persistent Glitches

An app closing unexpectedly is referred to as a "crash." Plenty of software glitches are just a one-time random occurrence that don't need to be addressed, but others can occur repeatedly.

Steps to Fix

Most crashes and glitches can be resolved by deleting and reinstalling the app. Follow these steps:

  1. Prepare to reinstall

    • Ensure you're connected to WiFi.

    • Have your Simple Booth login credentials and your Apple ID credentials.

    • Classic Users Only:

      • Ensure you’re signed in with the Apple ID used for the original purchase before reinstalling.

    • If possible, check your queue before deleting—pending uploads will be lost.

  2. Check for updates

    • Make sure your iOS is up to date (the latest app versions require iOS 17 or later).

  3. Delete & reinstall the app

    • Follow these instructions if you’re not sure how to delete an app.

    • Open the App Store and search for your product:

      • "Simple Booth HALO" or "Simple Booth Classic"

    • Re-download the app.

After reinstalling, log in and test the app to see if the issue is resolved.

Pictures Are Stuck

If your pictures aren’t uploading to your online gallery or sending via text/email, the issue is usually related to WiFi connectivity or an outdated app version.

Steps to Fix

  1. Check for Updates – Ensure your iOS and app are up to date. The latest app versions require iOS 17 or later.

    • If your app is only slightly outdated and you're already at your event, an update isn't necessary, but be sure to update before the next one.

    • If your version is significantly behind, update as soon as possible. Running the app on an outdated version can result in your pictures getting stuck more permanently.

Keep in mind that slow venue WiFi may slow down the update process.

  2. Check Your Offline Queue – If your app is updated and pictures show as "pending" in the offline queue, they will automatically upload and send once you're connected to a more reliable WiFi network.

Settings Aren’t Syncing

Syncing problems are usually caused by WiFi connectivity issues or an outdated app version.

Steps to Fix

  1. Check for Updates

    • Ensure your iOS and app are up to date (the latest versions require iOS 16 or later).

  2. Refresh the App

    • Try quitting and reopening the app or pulling to refresh—this forces a sync with your online settings when connected to WiFi.

  3. Check Your WiFi Connection

    • Run an internet speed test or open a browser and try visiting a website to confirm your connection.

  4. Adjust Settings Manually if Needed

    • If syncing is delayed, most settings can still be updated directly in the app without waiting for a full sync.

If you are in a pinch, most settings can be updated from the app, meaning you do not need to wait for things to sync.
