For security purposes, getting back to your settings isn't obvious

Once the booth is launched into "Booth Mode," there is no in-app button to return to settings.

This is designed to work together with Guided Access to prevent people from accessing your settings as well as other sensitive information on your iPad.

Returning From Test Mode

Test Mode allows you to return to your settings quickly and easily in order to make changes while you're working on your settings.

When launching, choose the "test" option in order to use test mode. You'll return to your settings with a button available on your "tap to start" screen.

Returning From Booth Mode

If you have launched into "Booth Mode" and need to make a change to your settings, there are two methods to get back to your settings.

Quit The App

  1. Disable Guided Access if it is still enabled

  2. Quit your app using these instructions

  3. Find the app icon again on your iPad (or search for it) and open it up. You will be able to change settings before you launch the booth again.

Use Mission Control

  1. While your app is resting on the start screen, place two fingers side-by-side on the screen.

  2. Slowly “pinch out” by sliding your fingers in opposite directions.

When done properly, a new status menu will appear with a button on the left-hand side to return to your settings.

While Booth Status is intentionally “difficult” for a participant to find, we strongly recommend using a password or Face ID for your iPad to prevent participants from being able to return to your settings from this area.
