Our online galleries can make for a fun collection of the photos from your event that can be shared, but in some cases you may want to offer a more private experience.

Privacy is important to our team, and we believe control over the images taken at an event should be shared between guests and event hosts.

Gallery Access

Most events are set up so that participants will receive a link to their own picture after they use the booth. Check out this article for more information on enabling link sharing from your booth so participants can receive their picture via text, email, etc.

Whether or not participants and others can view the gallery's main page depends on the privacy level you select.

Gallery Privacy Options

There are three privacy levels: Public, Unlisted, and Private.

Direct Picture Links

Participants receive this link after sharing via text, email, QR, etc.

Allows participants to view their picture and the rest of the gallery.

Allows participants to view their picture only. The rest of the gallery is not available.

Allows participants to view their picture only. The rest of the gallery is not available.

Gallery Page Links

Participants do not receive the main gallery URL by default, but as the host you can share this link as needed.

Anyone visiting a gallery link can view the full gallery.

Gallery Links are not shared or available by default and can normally only be accessed when the event host shares it directly.

This allows for select people (like your client or other event organizers) to monitor the entire gallery, while maintaining a more private experience for guests and the general public.

Only the signed in host can view a private gallery page.

Other visitors attempting to view a private gallery with the gallery link will see a page stating that the gallery is private and cannot be viewed.

Opt In Process

More information on opting in or out of public posting can be found below this chart.

Participants are prompted to opt in or out of having their picture posted publicly.

Participants are not prompted to opt in or out, and pictures are marked by private by default.

Gallery Opt In

Online privacy is increasingly important! Some people simply do not want to post their pictures to a public gallery.

The opt-in flow makes it more obvious to participants when their picture is going to be posted publicly and gives them an easy way to opt-out if they choose.

Opting In Or Out

Public & Unlisted Galleries

Participants are prompted to opt in or out when your gallery is Public or Unlisted.

When participants opt in, their photo will appear with other public photos in the gallery, Live Feed, your user profile, or the start screen slideshow.

When participants opt out they will still receive their own direct picture link, which they can share with friends or to social, but their picture will not be available to other participants scrolling the gallery.

Once a participant opts out, their picture will be permanently marked as private.

Private Galleries

Participants are not prompted to opt in or out when your gallery is Private. Photos uploaded to a Private gallery will automatically be marked as private.

Pictures in Private galleries are always marked as private by default. Private pictures cannot be modified to be posted publicly in your gallery, even if you change your privacy level to Public or Unlisted.

You can still share pictures with your clients by downloading them and passing them along!
